Arby’s Contest Video

Jenna and I decided to do something for the Arby’s Casting Call Video Contest and here’s what happened! Besides having to be :30 long, there weren’t too many restrictions. We just decided to make it look and function as an actual Arby’s commercial… why not?!

The competition ends on July 31st. The winner(s) get $10,000 and an actual acting role in an Arby’s commercial shooting in mid-August. Cross your fingers for us!

I’m selling my JuicedLink DT454! I didn’t get to use it that much, but I was very pleased with the results I had and recommend it to anyone looking for a video DSLR audio solution. The AGC-disabling feature is rad and the preamp sounds delicious. It has a few cosmetic scratches but performs like a champ.

Blast from the Past: The Punisher Fan Film

Back in the winter of 2004 my friends and I made a fan film based on the comic book The Punisher. We ended up winning first place at the first ever McKinney High School Film Festival and had a blast producing it.

It’s funny looking back on old work because my understanding of the filmmaking process has drastically evolved since then (at the time it was cutting edge cinema; now, not so much). I’m looking forward to the future as I’m getting back into the narrative world, and with the amount of knowledge and equipment I’ve been able to acquire over the last decade, the sky’s the limit.

Keep an eye out for my next post as I’ll be including more information on my next narrative project, a feaux-documentary style web series about my girlfriend and I titled We Met on Chatroulette. I hope to blog about the entire process from beginning to end, as I’m quite excited about it! Stay tuned, and take care.
